See Me by Nicholas Sparks is more of a thriller than a romance novel. Having watched The Notebook and A walk to remember , I expected a slow, calm story – but this was a pleasant surprise. . ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 . Colin and Maria have their own individual troubled pasts and are determined to set their lives straight. However when they meet , they can’t help but fall in love. Their bubble bursts when Maria’s past comes back to haunt her . Colin and Maria fight a faceless enemy, who threatens to ruin Maria, while trying to keep their budding romance alive. . This story is nicely woven and moves seamlessly from a romance to a thriller. It started out as a light read and became a gripping page-turner by the end. . What bothered me about the book was how all the characters seemed very slow to process the clues. It felt almost as if , they were portrayed like this, so that the story could be dragged on. I kept getting frustrated with the characters’ lack of ability to connect the dots. The end of the book however , totally made up for the other things this book lacks in. . My feelings about this book are very mixed , as you can tell…. 😋
