Beauty & the beast is my one of my favorite fairytales & this modern retelling has only increased my love for the tale. I love myself a forbidden love story and this is perfect. The character development in the book progress slowly & Jaya is as determined as Grey is withdrawn. The contrasting personalities is an ode to the fairytale & I really liked how the contemporary plot resonates with the classic.

This has a dash of everything- self-acceptance, liberation, family & sister drama. We get to hear all of Jaya & Grey’s inner battles as they confront their insecurities and duties. This was tempered and convincing enough. Excellently balanced Writing!
