The wonderful people @minotaur_books sent me a copy of Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier. I have been eyeing this one for a while & devoured the book in two days.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

SYNOPSIS->
Marin had the perfect life ―until her world falls apart the day her son Sebastian is taken.A year later, Marin is a shadow of herself. The FBI search has gone cold. She and her husband rarely speak. She hires a P.I. to pick up where the police left off, but instead of finding Sebastian, she learns that Derek is having an affair with a younger woman. This discovery sparks Marin back to life. She’s lost her son; she’s not about to lose her husband, too. Kenzie is an enemy with a face, which means this is a problem Marin can fix.Permanently.

REVIEW->
The story is about Marin’s life after her Son goes missing. The Author has gone to great lengths to describe Marin’s emotions as she struggles with guilt & depression. Marin’s husband cheating on her seems like a plot distraction initially, but ties into the main plot very nicely towards the end. For a while I actually feared the plot may seem incomplete, but Jennifer has taken care of all the small details. The narration shifts between the POV of Kenzie & Marin and it is interesting to read how the women perceive & consciously damage each other.

I was emotionally invested in Marin‘s life in the first 80 pages & wanted to know more about her. The story did feel a little drawn out with the whole account trying to set the stage for the climax. The ending however is totally worth patiently reading through the book. If you feel the urge to stop this book Midway, DON’T. The amazing wrap up at the end is too good to miss.

My most favorite part about this book is how the MC is not portrayed as the ideal Lady, but as a very flawed & imperfect mother trying her very best
