The Last Black Unicorn is a humorous biography of Tiffany Haddish.
This is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 from me. . Let’s talk about Tiffany first, who is the reason I wanted to read this book. I absolutely love her ! She is funny , brave , humble, speaks her mind & is downright inspiring. Her carefree attitude has made her endearing and also seeps into her character potrayals in movies. I have mostly enjoyed her movies with a few exceptions (Nobody’s fool was just too bad). . Let’s move on to the book cover which was my second reason for picking this book . She is a Unicorn for sure , bright and shining. The cover has magic written all over it & Tiffany looks dazzling in the cover, ready to reveal her journey to stardom. . The book itself however , was not too impressive. Her story comes across clearly and strongly. She had a traumatizing childhood and had to climb out of her miserable conditions herself. She has had a rocky path to learning her own self worth. The issue I had with the book is the writing style. The book feels like Tiffany was just telling her story to some friends & and someone wrote it down as she was talking. There is no structure to the chapters or story flow. I am unsure if that was the intended effect of the book, but it put me off a lot. The content itself was raw , funny and honest!
