The Perfect US by Durjoy Datta is a Romance Novel that I absolutely loved. This book deals with many sensitive and usually unspoken aspects of a relationship & has still delivered a beautiful story.

Deb and Avantika have been married for 10 years & think they have seen it all. But when they decide it is time to have a baby, they are faced with innumerable challenges & begin to question how well they know each other. Unresolved issues from the past & endless family problems makes things more difficult for the couple.  The book revolves around their struggles to survive the storm while attempting to stay together.

Durjoy has done an excellent job with the storyline construction. The plot is something that can easily happen in real life. There are no extreme fights or gestures or unrealistic scenarios throughout the book. All the characters are very practical & relatable .  Deb and Avantika have a support system including their best friends and Deb’s parents. These people stand by the couple & help them get through their difficulties . Everything about the couple itself is also very life like. They argue and resolve issues like I or my friends would do it. There are no big philosophical revelations made by one character that brings about a magical change in the other person.   To be able to write so naturally and realistically is a talent that I am now a fan of !

The climax is the best part of the book though ! I had my heart in my mouth & nearly cried . I wanted to throw a pillow at the Author after I was done with the book for giving me a mini stroke at the end . A beautiful novel that had me thinking about Deb & Avantika for days after
