He Started It, is Samantha Downing‘s latest novel. If you don’t know this Author, you absolutely should read My Lovely Wife by her. It is an amazing book.

The whole book takes place on a road trip. 3 siblings & their spouses forced together to deal with each other’s judgment & face a trauma from the past – is a plot with so much potential. I dove into it & the story definitely had an awesome air of suspense to it. No character was reliable & I liked how I couldn’t trust anyone. The story was built up very well too. I did feel like the awesome twist I was waiting for did not make me gasp like I had hoped though.

The motivations and sinister actions were not explained enough & the narrator, Beth-had a very non-dramatic reaction to even the most horrific revelations. I guess the Author was going for a portrayal of unstable individuals, who are emotionally distant.

The twists and turns definitely had me hooked till the end, eager to see how the siblings war would play out. Do check out this book if you are up for thriller with an unreliable narrator (my favorite kind actually).Thank you to the publisher for gifting me a copy of the book!
