I really wanted to like The bookish life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman, but I thought it was just kind of okay.

⭐️⭐️/5

SYNOPSIS->
Nina is an introvert and a bookworm. Her life is super organized & planned. When Nina’s long absentee Father passes away, Nina is introduced to his large family. She now has to talk and get to know these strangers. And her trivia nemesis Tom, seems to have taken an interest in her. Battling with her urge to hide or run away, Nina tries to face her problems as best as she can.

REVIEW->
First of all, what is up with Nina being the preferred name for a bookworm in most books? Nina’s character hits home with her picking books to match her moods and to shut the world. But for the most part this book was kind of okayish. The story is quirky and cute, but is just very predictable and uneventful. And I think it is hinted that Nina may be ADHD, but I did not really see that come through.

What kept me going is the the eloquent writing and here are some lines I really liked –

“She enjoyed ppl , she really did , she just needed to take them in homeopathic foses”

“Objectively atractive subjectively repulsive”
