Difficult to comprehend! Just so unbelievably impossible to imagine that a girl has been through so much & survived. Has achieved so much, when she had very little to go on. I have pages of notes from this book & writing this review is a tough task because I don’t think I can do justice to this beautiful beautiful book. It is a difficult book, because Tara has been through some graphically gruesome experiences that you wouldn’t have considered possible. But read on, because her story needs to be read and known. . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (yes that is 6⭐️) . SYNOPSIS-> Tara had never been to a doctor or school for most of her life. Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, her family prepared for The End & refused to participate in Government agendas. The family was so isolated from mainstream society, that there was no one to ensure the children received education or intervene when one of Tara’s brothers became physically violent. Then, lacking formal education, Tara began to educate herself. Her education takes her far, too far from home. . REVIEW-> Abuse and miracles in this book are extreme. Tara had her face shoved into the toilet by her brother. Such horrific incidents are bound to have scarred Tara for life! And the Miracles? She taught herself Math & Grammar. She was guided to take on courses and attend Universities that paved a better path for her. . This book is filled with powerful writing and very important messages. The Author being able to articulate her life in a book & derive meaning from it couldn’t have been easy. The writing is honest & sheer brilliance. . This book shook me,made me cry & touched me in a profound way. I had to keep reminding myself time and again that it is a memoir and not a dystopian fiction. It was super difficult to keep reading. . But totally worth it. Subject yourself to reading about a life you are lucky to just read about & not live through. Because I don’t believe anyone else could have survived it like Tara! Read it ! Read it ! Read it!
