The Pilot’s wife by Anita Shreve was originally published in 1998. This came a s a surprise to me because the technology of the airplane and the investigation methods mentioned in the book are in sync with today’s world & not outdated. This was a well written, intriguing read !

When Kathy is told of Jack’s death, her emotional distress is captured wonderfully by the Author. You can almost feel her pain through the Author’s writing . There was a point I had to  stop & marvel at Anita’s command over the words. The story is slow moving but not boring. It is centered around dealing with grief & so has a sad aura to it. The narrative gets interesting towards the end & it is a rush of shock, betrayal & heart break. Anita’s delicate & detailed writing took me on an emotional roller coaster and I needed closure as much as Kathy did. A very well delivered book !!
